The Humber River in Ontario is best known
as a multi-seasonal recreation area with something for every
age group. However the Humber also has a tremendous historical
relevance and through this project became a Heritage River.
To date, archaeologists have located almost
300 sites in the watershed dating back thousands of years
and providing information about early Humber life. There
are almost 800 Euro-Canadian built heritage sites including
bridges, mills, houses, inns and farmsteads that have been
documented within the watershed.
